Heller School

heller studentsFrom its inception nearly 50 years ago, the Heller School for Social Policy and Management has put scholarship in the service of social policy and practice. Heller graduates can be found in leadership positions in government agencies and nonprofit organizations, and other graduates have become scholars and teachers of social policy.

Heller faculty have active research programs and are recognized experts in their fields. It is not surprising, then, that the Heller School is consistently ranked among the best in the field.

The Heller School offers five degree programs:

  • M.A. in Sustainable International Development
  • M.S. in International Health Policy and Management
  • M.B.A., with a focus on the public and nonprofit sectors
  • M.P.P., with a focus on social policy
  • Ph.D. in Social Policy

The Heller School also offers a joint master’s degree with the Hornstein Program in Jewish Professional Leadership and a joint doctoral degree with the sociology department.

Along with the degree programs at the Heller School are a number of research centers, grouped within three broad institutes: the Schneider Institutes for Health Policy, the Institute on Assets and Social Policy and the Institute for Child, Youth and Family Policy. A Center for International Development further enriches the research program of the Heller School. At the Heller School, intellectual rigor and social commitment go hand-in-hand.
