Student Profiles
South Asia & Oceania
Of critical importance to world security, economic viability and cultural diversity in the 21st century, South Asia and Oceania have a long history in the Brandeis experience. Faculty and students across the university have been collaborating on research and policy in public health, gender and equality and economic growth in the region for more than two decades by building mutual partnerships with institutions and communities, while the campus is further enriched by two major student groups and campus events. In 2007, Brandeis launched both a South Asian Studies Program and a Brandeis-India Initiative, seeking to strengthen these historic relationships.
