Historic Ties to India

Appadurai

Many of the first Wien International Scholars -- a Brandeis exchange program established in 1958 -- were from India, including scholar Arjun Appadurai '70 (pictured) and filmmaker Anand Patwardhan '72. Building on that history, the Brandeis-India Initiative is a long-term project designed to strengthen University ties to the world's largest democracy.
