The Guy Mendilow Band returns to the Festival of the Arts with the Ladino Project, a dynamic blend of ancient Sephardi music driven by Brazilian street beats and tempered with blues. This is vibrant musical storytelling awash with warm vocal harmonies, intricate textures and spellbinding rhythms. Sunday, May 1, 1 - 1:50 p.m., Shapiro Campus Center Theater
The What Cheer? Brigade, an outrageous 19-piece brass band, encircles the Brandeis campus with musical mayhem. A favorite at festivals worldwide, their influences include Bollywood, the Balkans, New Orleans, Samba and hip-hop, the Brigade defies boundaries with “undimmable energy…an explosion of good cheer.”-The New York Times. The Boston Hoop Troop offers an offbeat, energetic hoop dance performance as well as a workshop for all ages. Sunday, May 1, 3:30 -4:30 p.m., Great Lawn.
Cover the campus walks with Sidewalk Sam, aka Robert Guillemin, the beloved Boston artist dedicated to creating public art that promotes community and creativity. Sunday, May 1, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. on the Great Lawn.

As part of their 30th anniversary celebration, the world-renowned Lydian String Quartet perform a free finale concert including Leonard Bernstein's "Agathon" from Serenade After Plato's "Symposium"; Haydn Quartet in E flat major, Op. 33, No. 2; Mohammad Fairouz Lamentation and Satire; Vincent Persichetti Piano Quintet, with Geoffrey Burleson, piano.
