Did you know?

Brandeis offers 45 majors and 47 minors.

Liberal arts for the 21st Century

Brandeis University offers students a broad array of opportunities for intellectual exploration. The curriculum embraces 45 majors and 47 minors, with many options for exploring cross-disciplinary issues.

At Brandeis, students engage in laboratory research, serve as research assistants to faculty members and participate in internships, experiential learning opportunities and community engagement beyond the campus.

On this site, many of these exciting ways of learning and doing are gathered thematically under eight large “umbrellas” we call “areas of study.” By following the links on the left, you will be able to read about each of these general areas, as well as the majors and minors available within them.

As you probe the areas that interest you most, it is our hope you will come to recognize that what sets Brandeis apart from other institutions is the way our faculty and students have forged a shared community of learning and created numerous opportunities for discovery.
